The common areas are designated as the front entry way, rear exit and the third Cul-de-sac common area. The front entry way is comprised of the land between the fence line and the sidewalk running along 212th Avenue SE from corner of SE 35th ST up to where the Sidewalk and Fence ends along the north fence line. The front entry also includes the center aisle on SE 34th ST. The rear exit area is comprised of the 10 foot hedge on the north side of the road that runs along SE 34th Street and masks the fence line along the tract C retention pond. The third Cul-de-Sac common area is designated as the land between the fence line and the curb along the south side of SE 33rd Place approximately behind the north fence lines of lots 21 and 20. The Association contracted with the Highridge corporation in August 2004 to perform basic landscape maintenance in the common areas. The level of maintenance varies in relation to how developed the area currently is. Seasonal Color The landscape committee has taken over the seasonal color program and will design, plan procure and install seasonal color 3 times a year coinciding with the seasonal weather changes. The Fall to Winter plantings should occur in the late September or early October. The Spring planting should occur in late March or early April. The Summer planting should occur in July. Spring Bulbs The landscape committee planted 375 King Alford Yellow Daffodils and 360 Apeldoorn Tulips (Red Emperor, Pink Emperor and White Emperor) in late December along the 212th entry way. The plantings were done primarily along the hedge line and near the Nandina Domestica "Gulf Stream" fronting the raised beds. Center Island Project The Landscape committee in conjunction with the Board is developing a plan to replace the Center island rhododendrons with a more manageable mix of shrubbery. The plan for the center island plantings hasn't been finalized as yet. The goal for the center island is a multi tiered row of hedges similar to Autumn Meadows. The center island irrigation system needs repair and some of the heads need to be relocated. The irrigation maintenance will take place in tandem with the replanting effort. Installation of new plants will take place in the Spring of 2008.
